Mothers Day in our region (The Middle East) falls on March 21 (vernal equinox).
This goes out to all mothers.
I salute you all for making this sacrifice (for it is one), to spend your lives taking care of your offspring. You give birth to little vampires who grow into older vampires, most of whom will take you for granted and will only take take take, while few ever give back.
A mother’s work is a none ending one, a thankless job (a lot of the times), a hard job, and on their behalf I thank you if they haven’t and still are too young to do so.
I was brought up by a woman who showed me that yes you can have it all, a career, and a family. She taught me to respect women (even if some wouldn’t respect themselves she said it is your job to teach them their worth), My grandmother in turn had brought my mother up in much the same way proving that women were capapble and strong and at times even stronger than men. All hail the mighty Amazones (Or Great Danes as we called them).
So in the spirit of what I have learnt, and channelling the two most amazing women I have been blessed to know (there are also many of you out there some I know and some I don’t, you are the survivours and the blessed angels, those with us now and those who passed on) I greet you, I thank you, and most of all appreciate you, your work has not gone unnoticed and you are relevant and strong, so on this day and every day I say thank you.
There were two season in our house which took 6 months to prepare for Springtime/Easter and Christmas, mother had her hobby of making things and getting them ready for the charity bazaars she was always preparing and sewing knitting making Rose Jelly or Jam, and mostly for Christmas it was the Gingerbread men, and houses, and her Angel of Paier Mache….
